Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! (Psalm 34:8 ESV)
Have you ever been so hungry that the thought of eating almost anything appealed to you?
Many of us are guilty of eating “junk food" to be momentarily satisfied. We know it's not good for our bodies, but we eat it anyway because it tastes good, although we may later regret that we did so in a moment of weakness.
In contrast to eating the wrong food, studying God's Word provides the nourishment that sustains the body, soul, and spirit without limits. When we feed on His Word, there is no regret because we are strengthened and nourished in a spiritually healthy way.
We have the freedom to choose what we are going to eat to satisfy our physical hunger, and we also have the freedom to choose God to meet our spiritual needs. Seek to know God through studying His Word daily, and taste the goodness He has planned for you.
“We need to encourage new believers to feed on God’s Word—it is nourishment for the soul.” - Billy Graham
