For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by me and Silas and Timothy, was not “Yes” and “No,” but in him it has always been “Yes.” For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. 2 Corinthians 1:19-20 (NIV)
In golf, a “do-over” swing is called a mulligan. The initial stroke doesn’t count, only the mulligan. However, life doesn’t always afford us a “do-over”. The world is full of broken promises, and broken promises can be both painful and regrettable.
With God, we never have to worry about broken promises. The Bible is filled with testimonies of the dependability of His words to us. His words are true and eternal. All of God’s promises to us will be kept, as stated in 2 Peter 1:4, “by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. (ESV)”
Cling to God’s promises and don’t let go. His Word is true and sure.
"If you are a child of God, know that every promise in the Bible is yours. The Bible is a gold mine, waiting for someone to take out its riches.”
