O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens. (Psalm 8:1)

Today we had the opportunity to share some of our music in the village where we live. One of the songs, Adonai, was part of the set.
To us, this song holds a very special meaning. It is the first song we ever wrote together as a couple. It was the beginning of serving the Lord together through music.
One of God's names is Adonai. Adonai means LORD, master, owner and was often used as a substitute for God's name "Yahweh" (these are interchangeable) in the Old Testament.
Jesus is Lord of Lords and King of Kings. If we are Christ followers, He is the One we listen to and obey. Thankfully, God is not a harsh master or owner. He is gracious and merciful.
Take heart in knowing that the One who has redeemed (bought) you did so out of complete love and sacrifice. Why wouldn't we want to serve and please our master?
"Our God is a God who saves; from the Sovereign LORD comes escape from death." (Psalm 68:20)
"For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done." (Matthew 16:27)
