Jesus said, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35 (NIV)
What is love? The Bible tells us that love is God. Love is both a noun and a verb. Love is what keeps us on the right path. Love never fails. At our very core, each of us needs to know that we are loved. God created us this way, to be in relationship with Him and other human beings. The funny thing about love is that we experience it more when we show it to others, and especially to God!
Love is more than a feeling or an emotion; it is a conscious decision about how we treat one another. Jesus was the supreme example of love in the history of the world. He tells us to love God, to love one another, to love our neighbor as ourselves, and even to love our enemies. He demonstrates all this in his own life through loving everyone and laying down his life for us all in love.
Choose to follow the command of Jesus today by loving one another. By doing this, you will be demonstrating ultimate love to Him.
"Our love to God is measured by our everyday fellowship with others and the love it displays." - Andrew Murray
