O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.
Psalm 8:1 (ESV)
One of God's names is Adonai. Adonai means LORD, master, owner, and was often used as a substitute for God's name "Yahweh" (these are interchangeable) in the Old Testament.
Jesus is Lord of Lords and King of Kings. If we are Christ followers, He is the One we listen to and obey. Thankfully, God is not a harsh master or owner. On the contrary, he is gracious and merciful.
Take heart in knowing that the One who has redeemed (bought) you did so out of complete love and sacrifice. Realizing this, why wouldn't we want to serve and please our master?
"Just as a servant knows that he must first obey his master in all things, so the surrender to an implicit and unquestionable obedience must become the essential characteristic of our lives." - Andrew Murray
