You are the people of God; he loved you and chose you for his own. So then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Be tolerant with one another and forgive one another whenever any of you has a complaint against someone else. You must forgive one another just as the Lord has forgiven you. And to all these qualities add love, which binds all things together in perfect unity. (Colossians 3:12-14 GNT)
God created us all to be remarkable. He doesn't love any one of us more than He loves another. When we look at our human brothers, we are to see each of them as a part of God's creation. God loves us more than anything; He created us, and we are to view others similarly.
Paul is particular in Colossians, giving instructions on how we are to treat each other. He says to "clothe" ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, and most importantly, love. By continually wearing these "clothes," we can better appreciate what God has given us.
In doing this, we recognize our faults and are in awe of His love for us, making it possible for us to offer the same to our fellow man.
"To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you." - C.S. Lewis
