Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12 ESV) 

Just as the sun is the physical light of the world, Jesus is the spiritual light of the world who exposes sin and gives us sight so that we can see clearly. 

As the light of the world, Jesus illuminates what has been hidden in our lives (sin) and guides us toward eternal life. To live in the light is, to be honest, vulnerable with others, and in fellowship with God.
