Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. (1 Peter 3:8 NIV)
Unity destroys the work of the enemy. The enemy would love nothing more than to cause division between God's people.
It can happen very insidiously - a tilted glance, a tone in the voice, or body language. Once the bait is taken, and division has occurred, the enemy has a foothold in the situation.
Thankfully, God has the antidote. He tells us to be like-minded (unified), sympathetic, loving, compassionate and humble toward each other. May we resist the trap of division and choose love.
“In the New Testament, love is more of a verb than a noun. It has more to do with acting than with feeling. The call to love is not so much a call to a certain state of feeling as it is to a quality of action." -R C Sproul
