And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed before the Lord, worshiping the Lord.
(2 Chronicles 20:18 NKJV)
Worship requires an attitude of complete surrender to God and His will.
When all the inhabitants bowed before the LORD and worshipped Him, they were showing that only God was able to bring about victory in the battle that was soon to begin.
As individuals, we worship the Lord in our quiet time and throughout our day. This is a good and right thing to do because it furthers our personal relationship with God.
There is something very powerful about corporate worship. When everyone agrees that the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings is victorious, their voices are united in declaring the glory of God.
When we worship the Lord in spirit and truth, we meditate on His greatness and reflect on His love for us.
"Worship is the specific act of ascribing to God the glory, majesty, honor, and worthiness which are His." - Jerry Bridges
