The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.
(Psalm 121:7-8 ESV)
The last two verses of Psalm 121 tell of the God who keeps. The word keep means “to guard, to watch over, or to attend to carefully.” God keeps us from evil. He keeps our going out and coming in, and He keeps us from ultimate evil. No area of our lives is not under His watchful eye.
We can rest assured that God is watching over us every moment of every day. As believers, God is with us and caring for us, even in times of hardship and suffering
When we hear the good news that God keeps us from all evil, we can celebrate all the ways in which God is protecting us right now. We can rejoice in the fact that no matter how difficult our lives might be today, God is with us now and forever. Our future is secure in God’s strong and gracious hands.
We lift our eyes up to the hills knowing that our help comes from the LORD, our keeper now and forevermore.
"Thank you, Lord Jesus, that You will be with us today and tonight and forever. Will You keep us from danger and protect us against fear? And will You show us the right way and not let go when we choose the wrong way and when we are in danger? It is wonderful to know that You take hold of our hands, that You hold us tight. And when You hold us tight, You lead us on, all our life. And when You lead us on through life, there will be a day when You bring us home safely. Thank you, Lord Jesus, Amen."
