Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it on my own.
But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind
and straining forward to what lies ahead.
(Philippians 3:13 ESV)
Have you ever found yourself obsessing on something in the past? We surely have, and when we have done so we have failed to realize the “present” of the present time. God gives us the present time in which to live and serve, and to grow in our faith.
Although He has blessed us with the capability to plan for the future, the future always remains in His hands. As is often quoted, “I may not know the future, but I know who holds the future.”
God has also given us the capability to learn from the past, and this is important so that we can move forward smartly in the present for what lies ahead in the future.
"Leave the broken, irreversible past in God's hands,
and step out into the invincible future with Him."
- Oswald Chambers
