The LORD is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?
(Psalm 27:1 ESV)
In Psalm 27:1, David praised God for the help and hope that He provided him as his light, salvation and stronghold. And because of this relationship with God, David confidently stated, whom should he fear or be afraid?
Like David, we have nothing to fear in this life if we put our trust in God as our guide, deliverer and protector. If we continually seek God, we can be assured that when problems arise, He will watch over us and make our path secure. We can place all confidence in Him and not be afraid of the things and situations that we face, for He is always with us to guide us. And in this process, He will draw us closer to Himself.
“God's commands are designed to guide you to life's very best. You will not obey Him, if you do not believe Him and trust Him. You cannot believe Him if you do not love Him. You cannot love Him unless you know Him.”
