…this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. God raised him up loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it. - (Acts 2:23-24 ESV)
Jesus was not held by the pangs of death; He was resurrected as foretold in the scriptures. This is the chief tenant of our Christian faith, that our Savior Jesus died for our sins and rose again. He was subsequently seen by more than five hundred people before He ascended into heaven, as recorded in the Book of Acts. Behold the glory of the cross, and in it God’s love for us, and know that we have been blessed beyond measure to have a Savior that would do this for us!
"Life is wasted if we do not grasp the glory of the cross, cherish it for the treasure that it is, and cleave to it as the highest price of every pleasure and the deepest comfort in every pain. What was once foolishness to us - a crucified God - must become our wisdom and our power and our only boast in this world." - John Piper
