And now my heart is satisfied
Today we continue sharing the scratch recording of our song, You Are My Everything for the daily devotion.
Satisfaction comes in many forms. When we eat a delicious meal, our palate is satisfied from the taste and nourishment. When we study for a test and receive a good grade, we are satisfied in the accomplishment of success.
People we love can also bring us satisfaction. A loving glance or the holding of hands can make a person feel special and loved, thus bringing about a form of satisfaction. We have a dog named Jazzy. She loves to sit on our laps, and we admit that we gain satisfaction from holding her. It also brings us joy when she sighs with contentment.
God brings the ultimate satisfaction to us through faith in Jesus Christ. Knowing that we are saved by His blood gives us eternal contentment.
Today take a deep breath and let your heart be satisfied in the Lord.
Scriptures:
"You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water." Psalm 63:1 (NIV)
“Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” (John 6:35)
Prayer:
Dear Lord, we thank You for filling us with Your love. You quench our thirst and fill our hearts with unceasing love. Amen.
