Even with the love they provide
They can never take the hurt away
That we have inside
Today we continue sharing the scratch recording of our song, You Are My Everything.
Yesterday the lyrics pointed to the fact that people we love are temporary.
Today in our devotion, as believers, we share the realization that even with the love of people who are close to us, they don't have the total power to heal our hurts. That spot is reserved only for the true Healer, our Lord Jesus Christ.
Christ came so that we might be saved and be able to live with Him forever in Heaven. He loves us so much that even here on this earth, He desires that our lives would be abundant and full of peace.
God realizes that there are many things that happen to us that cause physical and emotional pain. The lyrics specifically point to the emotional hurts.
But only God can take away our hurts. The people we love may not want to see us hurting, but they are incapable of totally healing us. God may use them in our lives to help heal us, but only He can heal us.
Let God take your hurts because only He is truly capable of healing you.
Scriptures:
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18)
But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being the Lord of our hearts. Thank You for healing our hearts and transforming us into Your image. Amen.
