You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At your right hand are pleasures forevermore. (Psalm 16:11 NKJV)
Today we come to the end of sharing, "Being in Your Presence" for the daily devotion. We pray God speaks to you in this time of reflection.
The whole purpose of this song is getting into the presence of the Lord.
As believers, we understand that our lives are to be fully dependent on God. This means that our hearts desire to know Him in a deeper way. The only way to get to know someone better is to spend time with them.
Through the Holy Spirit we have the privilege of having the presence of God dwelling inside us because of the faith we have in our Lord Jesus Christ. His presence is never ending. Just as we want to have a close relationship with someone dear to us, our greatest desire needs to be seeking that intimate relationship with our Lord.
God's presence is life sustaining to us. There may be times that we don't "feel" His presence, but we can assured that He is always there. In good times and in bad, our God is always there guiding us into His truth. We don't need to ever doubt His love. God, in His mercy, gives us what we need to live a life pleasing to Him.
Our prayer for you is that you will sense God's presence today and always.
Prayer:
Father, Your presence is all we need. The desire of our heart is to know You deeper in order to serve You in a greater capacity. We owe everything to You and praise You for Your limitless love. Amen.
"The central significance of prayer is not in the things that happen as results, but in the deepening intimacy and unhurried communion with God at His central throne of control in order to discover a sense of God's need in order to call on God's help to meet that need." - E.M. Bounds
