My (Joan) life verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 - "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths." At this particular time in our lives, this scripture is speaking loud and clear to us. We are stepping out in faith to start a new adventure, which requires listening intently to the Lord. We want to make sure that the "path" we are taking is the one He is directing, so we are putting all our hope and trust in His will. Please keep us and our ministry in your prayers.
One part of the new adventure relates to YOU, our friends and family members. We are endeavoring to share with you thoughts (and hopefully, wisdom) on what the Lord is showing us. We would like to share a new song titled, Trust in the Lord, that goes along with this devotional and verse.
While I (Joan) was driving home from my last day as a school librarian, I was praying and the Lord gave me an acronym for the word - TRUST.
T - Truth
R - Righteousness
U - Understanding
S - Surrender
T - Timing
So today we focus on TRUTH. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to Father but through Him. The opposite of truth is falsehood (according to Roget's Thesaurus). Since He is the Truth, we have no reason to doubt that when He says He will never leave or forsake us, He won't. Or when He tells us to be strong and take courage because He will be with us, He will. This life is full of liars, but most of us have had the blessing to be able to trust someone - mother, father, brother, sister, husband, wife, friend. When they tell us something, we are more than likely to believe what they say. How much more should we believe the One whose name is TRUTH!
If you are having difficulty trusting the One who is TRUTH, take time to meditate on His Word and focus on scriptures that are about TRUTH. Here are a few to help get you started:
John 14:6; Psalm 119:160; Psalm 25:5; Psalm 86:11; John 8:31-32
Blessings to you,
