That very day two of them were going to a village named Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem, and they were talking with each other about all these things that had happened. While they were talking and discussing together, Jesus himself drew near and went with them. But their eyes were kept from recognizing him. (Luke 24:13-16 ESV)
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to walk and talk with Jesus physically? What would you say? What would you do?
Yet this is precisely what Cleopas and the other disciple on the road to Emmaus had the opportunity to do, although they didn't recognize Him until later.
Just like the disciples in the Emmaus story, we are consumed with interpreting the world around us through our perspectives. But what if we could shift from our perspective to His viewpoint?
Years ago, Brad did the Emmaus walk through a church, and it was a life-changing experience. It was a time of quiet reflection and pressing into the Lord. It was a time of being still and listening to the voice of the Savior.
As believers, Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, is with us continually, even when we don't recognize His presence. So we can walk and talk with Jesus continuously and ask Him for His perspective. What is He saying to you?
