No temptation (or obstacle) has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13 ESV)
Acting without faith is never good, just as faith without action is never good. Our faith saves us through God's grace, and His grace alone.
As we have more faith, we have the potential for more action. Sometimes in acting out our faith, we can and will be tested, but we are to persevere in our strength through the help of the Holy Spirit.
It is comforting to know that the temptations we face daily today are no different than what the believers in the early Church encountered and endured. We can also be assured that as we persevere in the Lord, He will help us overcome and be victorious in Him.
“Temptation may even be a blessing to a man when it reveals to him his weakness and drives him to the almighty Savior. Do not be surprised, then, dear child of God, if you are tempted at every step of your earthly journey, and almost beyond endurance; but you will not be tempted beyond what you are able to bear, and with every temptation there will be a way of escape.” - F.B.
