See what kind of love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 1 John 3:1 (ESV)
God loves us and wants to meet our every need. He is a good Father.
We have close friends who have a little girl. She is dependent on her mother and father to meet her every need and wants. She never worries about where her food or clothes are going from. She trusts she will be taken care of. It's not only provision of needs - we watched her face light up when her parents entered the room. Seeing the total trust and adoration between the child and her parents was refreshing.
Watching the parents' interaction with their daughters reflects God's interaction with us. He desires to get us to the point where we rely entirely on Him for His provision, to trust Him so absolutely with every part of our lives (physical, spiritual, and mental) - daily and continually without ceasing.
God wants us to depend on Him to meet our every need entirely. Then, as we learn to rely on Him more thoroughly, we can be at peace like the child above, knowing that He is a good Father.
“The child asks of the Father whom he knows. Thus, the essence of Christian prayer is not general adoration, but definite, concrete petition. The right way to approach God is to stretch out our hands and ask of One who we know has the heart of a Father.” - Dietrich Bonhoeffer, The Cost of Discipleship
