“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT)
It is important not to take things for granted because life can change in a moment.
The life we are called to live as believers is not without challenges. Jesus spoke harsh words during His ministry here on earth, making it clear that God must come first in every part of our lives. Following Him is not without cost—we have to place Him before the important people in our lives. We even have to place Him before ourselves, as the lyrics of one of our favorite hymns states, "All to Jesus, I surrender..."
When we place and keep God first in our lives, we can see His plans for us clearly and we can allow them to flourish. His plans are always good and provide us with hope for the future. No matter what we may be facing, by trusting God, we can move ahead confidently and remain certain in uncertain times.
"There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind." - C.S. Lewis
