Sometimes in life, we find ourselves with a task that simply looks too big for us, and we can feel powerless. We realize that the strength we possess on our own is just not enough. It is in times like this when we are to press into God and receive His strength.
2 Corinthians 12:9 says, “My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” Seeing our weakness as the entry point of God’s strength gives access to his power!
Think of how Mary and Joseph must have felt on the road to Bethlehem. Mary is swollen with the Christ child, and we join her as she waits, watches, and walks toward his impending arrival and Joseph is trying to take care of her. They are truly putting their hope and trust in God and His power to bring them through one of the most important moments in history – the birth of the Savior!
God’s power is limitless. As we seek Him in all things, we can be sure of the hope that He has placed within us will be more than enough to sustain us.
Do not look to your hope, but to Christ, the source of your hope. - Charles Spurgeon
