You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
(2 Timothy 2:1-2 ESV)
Paul’s relationship with mentoring Timothy is an excellent example of how we are to help others grow in their relationship with the Lord. Paul invested the necessary time with Timothy and lifted him up in prayer.
Timothy grew in his faith walk through Paul’s mentoring, and he was able to help the early church grow and reach many more people. Paul wrote two letters to Timothy that are part of the New Testament, instructing Timothy to win others to Christ and to help them grow in their faith walk.
Let Paul’s relationship with Timothy be a model for your helping others to grow in their faith walk with Christ. Invest the necessary time with them, pray for them, and watch as God uses them to do great things in His kingdom.
"Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too." - Albert Schweitzer
