For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: "I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite." (Isaiah 57:15 ESV)
You are holy...
Today we continue sharing lyrics to one of our songs, "Being in Your Presence". We pray God speaks to you in this time of reflection.
We serve a holy God. What does that mean?
The word holy is listed in the bible more than 650 times. The word holy means "sacred, set apart from the profane (unholy) and for God."
As believers, we need to be "set apart" from the world unto the Lord. We need to be living by God's standards, not the world's. God isn't calling us to be perfect, but to be distinct from the world.
We found this video that is a great description of the Holiness of God. We pray it speaks to your heart and gives you more insight about our Great God. Click HERE to view the video.
Prayer:
Lord, we come before You and bow our hearts to You. For You alone are Holy. We praise Your name and are in awe of who You are. Thank you for loving us and transforming us into Your image in order to bring glory to Your Holy Name. Amen.
"To worship is to quicken the conscience by the holiness of God, to feed the mind with the truth of God, to purge the imagination by the beauty of God, to open the heart to the love of God, to devote the will to the purpose of God." - William Temple
