Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You…In God I have put my trust. I will not fear. (Psalm 56:3-4 NKJV)
Studies show that people who trust God feel less anxiety than people who do not trust the Lord. Some familiar sources of anxiety of people who don’t trust God, as listed in a recent study, are worrying about the future, not being content with their lives, and having anger towards God.
People who trust God are not worried or anxious about the future. They are content and peaceful. They have the joy that comes from their relationship with God. As believers, God gives us the strength to trust in Him to guide us through every difficulty.
A recent conversation with a friend touched on the example of applying one’s faith in dealing with the pressures of current life situations. Instead of giving into fear, she is facing her challenges step by step, trusting that God will take care of her. Small steps of faith can lead to bigger steps as we consistently learn to choose faith over fear.
