One day in quiet reflection and reading the first chapter of the Gospel of John, a beautiful melody started to accompany the words of scripture. I took notice that God was giving us a new song. It came in like a flood with a middle eastern style (which we often get) and before long the new song was born.
"In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. There was nothing that was made before Him, He's the Word of God, the Word of God." That seemed to be a fitting first verse.
Next, came the PreChorus with the powerful words, "For He is the light in the darkness, shining light to all who live in the world, calling us as children of the One True God."
The Chorus had a driving rhythm, almost militaristic with urgency, "Come from the Father, He came to free us, the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. We've seen His glory, the One and only, matchless in splendor, righteous and holy."
The second verse followed with, "In Him was life and life was the light of men, the Son of God. And He laid down His life for us all. He's the Lamb of God, the Lamb of God."
The bridge is comprised of only four words, "Yeshua. Messiah. Redeemer and King." Such powerful words!
This song is a very special one to us. It is the gospel in a nutshell!
