Today is a day when we reflect on those who have served their country at the cost of their lives. As the saying goes, “Freedom isn't free.” As believers let us remember those of have given their all for the sake of our freedom.
It is right and wise to remember the great price of those who have paid the ultimate price to preserve the civil and religious freedoms we as Americans have. But the importance of Memorial Day is also for our country’s future, as the future largely depends on how well we collectively remember and cherish what freedom really is.
So, as we commemorate Memorial Day, as Americans let us do it with profound gratitude for the men and women who laid down their lives for the sake of America’s survival. And as we remember the past and the ultimate price that many have paid for our freedom, let us recommit ourselves to upholding our civil and religious freedom in the future.
United we stand, in the love of Christ.
"Courage is contagious. When a brave man takes a stand, the spines of others are often stiffened." - Billy Graham
