For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see. (Psalm 36:9 NLT)
The image of God in Psalm 36:9 is described as a fountain of life. A fountain has water gushing forth constantly; there is no stagnant water. It is vibrant and thriving, and the mist of it rises to make spectrums of rainbows everywhere. God is our Creator, the giver of life - pulsating and thriving!
The next part of the above verse describes God as light. He shines brightly in our lives to lead us in our daily activities. His radiance is so clear that we don’t need to question His guidance. There is no place for darkness.
God is our life and our light. His love for us is so intense that we need not doubt it. He gives us what we need and then guides us each step of the way.
"Faith derives both light and life from God, and hence she neither dies nor darkens." - Charles Spurgeon
