Love is eternal. There are inspired messages, but they are temporary; there are gifts of speaking in strange tongues, but they will cease; there is knowledge, but it will pass.
(1 Corinthians 13:8 GNT)
God is love and love never fails - in this world or in the ages to come. As God says in Jeremiah 31:3, “I have loved you with an everlasting love.”
God chose each of us and died for each of us. He will never leave us. One of our favorite scriptures, Romans 8:38-39, clarifies this statement. “I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels or demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
There is nothing mercurial about love. It is not based on whims, feelings, or passing fancies. Love is rock-solid, intent on benefitting the one loved, regardless of the cost. God’s love never fails, and it never ends.
Because love is a basic attribute of God, (1 John 4:8) and because God is eternal, His love is and will always be eternal.
"But the love that God has expressed for ALL human beings is eternal. When Jesus had died on the cross to pay the sin debt for all people that will come to Him by faith in the right spirit and with the right attitude, then He had paved the way for them to be reconciled to Him and to have everlasting life in heaven with Him."
