For your Maker is your husband, the LORD of hosts is his name; and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer, the God of the whole earth he is called. Isaiah 54:5 (ESV)
According to Webster's Dictionary of 1913, a redeemer is: "1. a person who redeems someone or something. 2. Specifically, the Savior of the World, Jesus Christ."
For something to be redeemed (repurchased, paid for), value has to be placed upon it. In our case, the Creator of the universe sees value in His creation and us. After all, He made us. It is wonderful to know that even though we don't deserve to be redeemed because of our sins, God did not turn His back on us. On the contrary, Jesus Christ provided the way for us to be saved through His sacrifice on the Cross.
Our hearts should leap for joy and gratitude knowing that through the blood of Jesus, we have been bought and paid for in full. We belong to Him; we are His. So remember that no matter what you are going through, you are never alone. The One who holds the key to the Universe and our hearts is with you.
"I have just put my soul as a blank into the hand of Jesus, my redeemer, and desired Him to write on it what He pleases; I know it will be His image." - George Whitefield
