For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. (Proverbs 23:7 NKJV)
When things are difficult, we tend to go to the negative side of thinking. It is so easy to worry and be anxious. It is so easy to get angry and offended. But praise God for giving us a way of escape. He leads us in thinking the complete opposite of what is normal for us in our flesh. He gives us what we need to overcome our carnal desires - His Holy Word and the power of His Holy Spirit.
Here is God’s remedy to our wrongful thinking: “Finally, [a]believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].” Philippians 4:8 AMP
Think about these things!
“Loving God with all our mind means that our thinking is wholly engaged to do all it can to awaken and express the heartfelt fullness of treasuring God above all things.” ― John Piper
