Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” He said, ”Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” (Matthew 14:28-31 ESV)
Today’s Scripture verses teach much about our faith walk with Jesus. When we boldly embrace our faith walk without doubt, we can do amazing things. Although none of us may have walked on water as Peter did, we still reach our maximum potential when we trust Jesus totally, one hundred percent.
As you go through your activities today, make a conscious effort to trust Jesus completely. As believers, we have the Holy Spirit with us at all times to guide and direct us to do what we could never do alone. So, be it reaching out to help others, focusing on a seemingly impossible task, or taking on a new challenge, trust and obey Jesus completely.
Jesus loves you so much that He died a horrible death on the Cross to save each of us from our sins, and He is with us continually through the Holy Spirit, operating in our lives to help us achieve our true potential in everything we do.
As the famous hymn reads, “Trust and obey, For there’s no other way To be happy in Jesus, But to trust and obey.”
