And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the LORD, For His mercy endures forever.” (2 Chronicles 20:21 NKJV)
It is through hearing and applying God’s instructions that we become victorious in the LORD.
We are victorious in the LORD when we put our complete trust in Him during times of trials because the battle belongs to Him. Many times the key to victory is to be still and stand our ground. As we do this, our praise and worship are our actions in faith.
In 2 Chronicles 20:21, everyone knew the night before the battle that conflict was inevitable with the enemy. But they knew something the enemy did not – that they were going to be victorious because of the LORD.
On the morning of the battle, the musicians went in front of the army. This is God's strategy for victory - to attack the problem with praise. When under attack, we should march forward praising God for the victory rather than retreating in fear. This is our true march of faith.
When we march into the battles we are facing, we should sing: “Praise the LORD, For His mercy endures forever.” Because God is with us, we have nothing to fear. As we praise the Lord, He goes before us and fights for us and gives us the breakthrough because the battle belongs to Him. As a result, the enemy scatters because he flees when God acts on the scene! (Psalm 68:1)
Going into our battles our own way and with our own strength invites failure because we are not letting the battle be God’s. But going into our battles praising God is fighting under His banner and letting the battle be His. When we do this, we have placed our total trust in Him.
"The more you praise God, the more you become God-conscious and absorbed in His greatness, wisdom, faithfulness, and love. Praise reminds you of all that God is able to do and of great things He has already done."
