As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.
(Luke 8:15 ESV)
The Fruit of the Spirit is PATIENCE.
Galatians 5:22-23 says, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.”
Have you ever prayed for patience? It is a great prayer and God always answers it with opportunities to practice patience. Our initial reaction in stressful situations is to be impatient wanting a quick resolution.
Patience is the direct opposite and requires much discipline. Thankfully, God is merciful and gives us the chance to practice patience every day of our lives.
An acrostic of patience that we found is:
P – prayer, perseverance, poise
A – amiable, attitude in check, able to bear affliction
T – tolerance
I – imperturbable, in order, injuring none
E – endurance, encouraging to others
N – not irritable, not anxious
C – composed, calm, constant
E – even-tempered, equanimity
May all of us practice the fruit of patience today.
