And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. And he was transfigured before them, and his clothes became radiant, intensely white, as no one on earth could bleach them.
(Mark 9:2-3 ESV)
In this amazing event, we are given a picture of what we as believers can hope for in our own lives. There may be times of struggle and despair in our lives, but we can take refuge in reflecting on who we will become when God completes our transformation.
God loves us more than we can imagine, and He wants to begin our transformation now, leading us toward a godly and productive life today.
“Give up the struggle and the fight; relax in the omnipotence of the Lord Jesus; look up into His lovely face and as you behold Him, He will transform you into His likeness. You do the beholding--He does the transforming. There is no short-cut to holiness.”
