You gave Your life for me
We are continuing share the scratch recording of our song, You Are My Everything, for the daily devotion.
Jesus suffered and died for us. He took our place so that we might live with Him for all of eternity.
In this life we are not immune to suffering, but Christ went through the ultimate suffering for us - betrayal, isolation, humiliation, mutilation and so much more. His suffering was completely voluntary; Jesus knew everything He would have to suffer and still chose that path. Why? The answer is simple - He loves us!
When we go through suffering, we often question the motive of God in our circumstances. We are human and don't understand God's reasons for difficult situations. But it is in the difficult times that we should press into God and let Him comfort us. He endured every kind of suffering, and only He can bring peace to our hearts.
Scriptures:
Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God. (1 Peter 3:18)
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
Prayer:
Lord, we are forever grateful for Your love. The fact that You chose to suffer and die for us is too awesome for us to comprehend. Thank you, Lord, for Your love for us. Amen.
