You are the song I sing
We are continuing share the scratch recording of our song, You Are My Everything for the daily devotion.
It is said that music touches the heart in ways that words alone cannot. Even as a child, I (Joan) would sing at every opportunity I could whether it was singing through a swing-set tube or on my front porch. Singing brought me great joy. Even now, it is when I am singing to the Lord alone or in front of a crowd that I feel the closest to God.
Singing to the Lord is praise and worship. The melodies that are in our hearts go straight to the throne of God. Songs of gratitude and adoration not only bring pleasure to God, but they direct our hearts to the One who gave us the breath to sing.
God is the song we sing. What is your heart song to the Lord?
Scriptures:
My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you— I whom you have delivered. (Psalm 71:23)
But let all who take refuge in You be glad, Let them ever sing for joy; And may You shelter them, That those who love Your name may exult in You. (Psalm 5:11)
Prayer:
Father, we thank You for giving us breath to live and to sing Your praise. You are truly the song we sing. Amen.
