You are the air I breathe
Today we continue sharing the scratch recording of our song, You Are My Everything for the daily devotion.
It is the breath of God that gives us life. That breath is in every one of us, as we are created in His image.
The Hebrew word "ruach" means wind and spirit. This same word also means breath. Through His breath God gives us life. Through His breath we are sustained. As we breathe air into our lungs we receive life from God, and we take in His very Spirit.
We should be thankful for every breath that we take. Every gulp of air is a gift from God. Every breath is a reminder that God desires us to enjoy life and to enjoy Him. The wind we feel and the air we breathe are constant reminders of God's goodness and love.
Let us breathe in the breath of God.
Scriptures:
The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life. (Job 33:4)
Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the Lord.” (Ezekiel 37:5-6)
Prayer:
Dear Lord, You are our Creator and Sustainer. The air we breathe comes from You. Let every breath we breathe bring glory to You. Amen.
