You are my everything
Today we continue sharing the scratch recording of our song, You Are My Everything for the daily devotion.
The lyrics today proclaim that God is everything in our lives, a few words with a monumental meaning. The words indicate that everything we have in this life comes from the Lord. When we have this perspective, our lives are totally dependent on Him.
The problem is that sometimes we miss out on what God wants to do in in our lives because we go to people, expecting them to give us what we need, instead of going to God. God does work through the people He puts in our lives to help us, but we need to go to Him first to meet our needs.
Everything we need is found in God. When we seek to know Him more, then we can have confidence that He will take care of all our concerns and meet all of our needs.
Scriptures:
The Lord is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing. (Psalm 23:1)
I am the vine, you are the branches: He that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without Me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)
Prayer:
Dear Lord, we look to You to be source of our lives. Forgive us for looking to other people to meet our needs. You are our everything. Amen.
